DIRECT-TO-OBJECT / GLASS / COLOR / PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

Fix the process—not just the symptom.

Silverjerk helps manufacturers, decorators, brands, and print teams solve complex Direct-to-Object, color, workflow, and production problems—and turn the solution into a repeatable process.

THE CONNECTIVE WORK

The last step only succeeds when every step before it holds.

Brad Canfield works across the full path from design and production art through RIP, color, workflow, and production. That breadth makes it possible to see where one decision becomes the next team’s constraint—and to solve the system instead of polishing an isolated step.

Design → Production Art → RIP → Production

A staircase is only useful when every preceding step is sound. Silverjerk sees the whole staircase.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Technical depth. Production judgment. Clear handoff.

01

Direct-to-Object process development

Develop repeatable print strategies for complex three-dimensional products—from artwork preparation through production validation.

02

Glass decoration + adhesion

Evaluate surface preparation, pretreatment, ink behavior, adhesion, cure, durability, and the variables that make decorated glass reliable.

03

Geometry + print paths

Connect part geometry, rotation, motion, registration, printable area, and file construction so the physical object and digital path agree.

04

Color management

G7 Expert color-management guidance, process control, profiling strategy, verification, and practical paths toward more predictable output.

05

ONYX RIP workflows

ONYX configuration, workflow review, file handling, nesting, media strategy, troubleshooting, and operator-focused improvement.

06

Training, documentation + scale

Translate expert knowledge into operator training, repeatable procedures, acceptance criteria, production standards, and documentation your team can use.

THE APPROACH

Observe. Isolate. Prove. Document.

When the problem lives between artwork, pretreatment, ink, motion, cure, operator, and business reality, a better file is not enough. The work begins by seeing the system as it actually operates, separating the variables, testing assumptions, and translating the result into decisions your team can repeat.

A GOOD FIT WHEN

  • A product, process, or workflow will not repeat reliably
  • A new production capability needs real integration
  • Color changes between devices, materials, parts, or operators
  • Waste, rework, or handoff failures have become normal
  • Your team needs standards—not another workaround
  • An equipment, ink, or process decision needs an experienced outside perspective

ENGAGEMENTS

Start with the problem. Choose the right level of access.

REMOTE CONSULTING

$150 / hour

Focused troubleshooting, workflow review, production and process questions, color, file and RIP evaluation, decision support, and scoped remote projects. Estimated hours are confirmed before work begins.

ON-SITE CONSULTING

$1,200 / day

Eight-hour minimum at $150 per hour, plus approved travel and direct expenses. Best for live production diagnosis, implementation, calibration, trials, training, and team alignment.

DESIGN RETAINER

From $850 / month

Includes 10 reserved hours per month, a three-month starting commitment, and a written monthly priority list. Additional approved time is $100 per hour.

CONSULTING RETAINER

From $1,000 / month

Includes 8 reserved remote hours per month, a three-month starting commitment, and defined priorities and response expectations. Additional approved time is $150 per hour.

Retainers are paid monthly in advance and reserve defined capacity; they are not unlimited access. Unused hours reset monthly unless a proposal states otherwise. Travel, lodging, shipping, specialty materials, third-party testing, on-site work, and other direct project expenses are quoted or approved separately. Final scope and scheduling are confirmed in writing before work begins.
